Yardi Epilepsy Clinic & Video- EEG/Sleep lab

This clinic, led by Dr Nandan Yardi, Epileptologist, provides super-specialty comprehensive care in Epilepsy and sleep disorders for children and adults. After a detailed clinical evaluation, investigations are tailored as per needs of the patient for providing optimum medical or surgical treatment for epilepsy specializing in resistant or difficult to treat epilepsy and for sleep disorder. Depending on the need for evaluating the cause and extent of the disorder, digital EEG (electroencephalogram), digital video- EEG, CT or MRI scan, SPECT scan, PET scan or functional MRI may be done. Then sometimes, neuropsychological assessment and drug level monitoring is done. Based on these findings changes in medical treatment (required in most) or suggestion for surgical removal of epileptic focus (only in 5-10 % with discrete focus in unimportant brain area) is discussed with the patient.
Alternative treatment options such as Yoga may be advised and taught as an adjunctive at this clinic by an experienced Yoga team.
In addition, research on newer antiepileptic drugs, yoga and psychological treatment of co-morbid conditions such as ADHD, Autistic spectrum disorders and childhood psychiatric disorders is conducted by respective specialists.
