Dr. Nandan Yardi passed MBBS and MD examinations in 1 st class from the Byramjee Jhejheebhoy Medical college, Pune standing 1st in Pharmacology in Pune University.His thesis in Childhood epilepsy for MD was appreciated at the International Epilepsy Congress in Germanyand Norway in 1993. He has worked as visiting fellow in Epilepsy centers in Germany, Switzerland, France and London in childhood and adult epilepsy with special training in treatment and presurgical evaluation in resistant and difficult to treat epilepsies.
He was voted as memberof the European Federation of Neurological societies (Member,EFNS) by it’s governing council in Berlin in , 1993.
He has features as ‘Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare in the world’ in 2002-2003 and ‘Who’s Who in science and Engineering in the world’ in 2003-2004, the most standard reference texts, for his contribution to Epilepsy care, education and research.
Invited as Lecturer at World Health Organization(WHO)and International League Against Epilepsy(ILAE) meeting in Geneva in 1996-the recommendations made by him during this lecture On ‘Cross cultural Knowledge, Attitudes and Practice (KAP) of Epilepsy ’and published in the ILAE Developing Countries Commission report by Dr. Pierre Jallon of Switzerland, in the prestigious journal Epilepsia (Epilepsia 38(10);1143-1151,1997)were used as agenda for the Global Campaign for Awareness of Epilepsy- “Out Of The Shadows”. The ILAE president, Dr. E H Reynolds, concluded that the Geneva meeting was one of the most important in the history of ILAE heralding the beginning of a new era both in the treatment and attitudes, on a global scale, for persons with epilepsy.
